Itinerary
Day 1 & 2 Auckland:
You arrive in Auckland (at own expense), the city of sails for 2 nights. Time to check out the shops or go for drink in one of the bars or café in the Viaduct at the harbour. Take a lift up the Sky Tower, the highest building in the Southern Hemisphere. In the morning we are off to the Bay of Islands where you will enjoy a Bay Cruise and visit the Waitangi Treaty Reserve.
Day 3 Auckland to Waitomo:
Departing the city, we travel to the Waitomo Caves. Here you will travel underground to explore the caves and the adrenaline pumping Black Water rafting and glow worm caves.
Day 4 & 5 Rotorua:
On arrival in Rotorua you will check-in to your hostel. This evening you're free to have a look around town, the heartland of New Zealand's Maori culture. In the morning Jet Boating and bathing in Thermal Pools is the highlight of the day.
Day 6 & 7 Napier:
Here you head back towards the East Coast to explore the wineries of the Hawke's Bay Region where you will spend 2 nights.
Day 8 Wellington:
Today you travel down to Wellington, New Zealand's capital. This town is vibrant with street cafes, bars and restaurants a plenty.
Day 9 Christchurch: Today you board the scenic ferry to cross to the south Island. The ferry will take you to the Marlborough Sounds from where you will board a coach that will travel down to Christchurch.
Day 10 & 11 Franz Josef Glacier:
Departing Christchurch we travel on the famous Tranz Alpine train across the Southern Alps to Greymouth and then board a coach to the glaciers. The West Coast is famous for its Glaciers. We will spend two nights here, including a glacier trek onto Franz Josef. For the more adventurous they also offer heli-hiking.
Day 12 & 13 Queenstown:
Queenstown is the adventure Capital of New Zealand. Here you can jump off the Bungy Bridge, go White Water Rafting, Ski the Southern Alps (in season), 4WD, the options are endless. Included in the package is the Double Decker tour which visits the famous Bungy Bridge, Arrowtown and Gilberton winery. Also in Queenstown you will enjoy a half day White Water Rafting or in winter an exhilarating ride in a jet boat.
Day 14 Milford Sound:
Travel by coach to Milford Sound. Here you will enjoy a 2 hour cruise. This region is surrounded by glacial peaks with a lake of crystal blue water.
Day 15 Christchurch:
Today you travel back via Mt Cook to Christchurch for our last night.
Day 16 Christchurch:
Today your package ends on checkout. Christchurch is the Gateway to the South Island and has lot to offer. Today you have free time to go for a walk along the River Avon, visit the Antarctic Centre, do a day tour to Hamner Springs to visit the Geothermal baths, take a daytrip up to Kaikoura to view the Whales or just settle in and enjoy the ambience Christchurch has to offer.
