Advanced FreeFall (AFF)
AFF (Advanced FreeFall) is the solo skydiving ticket course. You need to complete all nine stages to obtain your 'A' Licence which enables you to jump solo!
STAGE 1 This jump is completed via the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) system. Initially about 8 hours training is required before this stage. You are instructed how to skydive and operate the Parachute on your own, with two instructors accompanying you in freefall. After opening you then fly your parachute, as you have been trained, back to the landing area, and land Safely on the Drop Zone. Don't Worry; we can talk to you by radio after you open the parachute. All jumps are conducted from 10.000 feet.
STAGES 2 AND 3 You will require more training, about 3 hours, with two instructors accompanying you as you learn freefall moves and control.
STAGE 4 More training, new and exciting freefall moves and some revision before we take off. (If Stage 4 requires 2 instructors, same price as stage 3).
STAGES 5, 6, 7 AND 8 You should be more comfortable with the basics of each jump by now. During each of these jumps, you will be learning something new and exciting. They take about an hour or two to prepare for each stage, sometimes less, as the manoeuvres become more advanced and exciting. Again, each jump is from 10,000 feet. This time you will only have one instructor with you.
STAGE 9 This is your final stage of the Accelerated Freefall Program (AFF). This time you exit the aircraft, on your own, from 3,500 feet. Perform a short delay and pull the ripcord. The purpose of this stage is for you to realise that it is still a safe altitude to jump from and to experience a sub-terminal, ie - slower, opening.
To qualify for your first Certificate (A) is dependant of your abilities in canopy control, ie- accuracy and learning to pack your parachute.
