The 8 Day Kenya Family Safari is a small group upmarket safari which tours through Kenya, Nairobi, Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Giraffe Center, Laikipia /Sabuk, Ewaso Nyiro River. 

Day 1 - Nairobi
(JKIA – INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL)
Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi you will be met and assisted by our representative for transfer to the House of Waine, a quaint private house in a quiet suburb of Nairobi. Depending on your arrival schedule you may opt for some of the excursion that we offer or relax at the pool and lovely living areas. Meals and overnight will be at the House of Waine (LD)

Day 2 Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast you will visit the nearby Giraffe Center for endangered Rothschild giraffe, followed by the Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (as featured in BBC's Elephant Diaries). After lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant you will be transferred to the Wilson Airport for a scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara. On arrival you will be met at the airstrip for transfer to your camp. You will have an introductory nature walk with a naturalist is followed by an off-road game drive before returning for dinner and overnight at the Siana Intrepids Camp (BLD)

Day 3 Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Breakfast at the lodge followed by morning and afternoon game drives.

{Today you also have an opportunity to go on a spectacular Optional balloon ride across the Maasai Mara. The BALLOON SAFARI ADVENTURE begins in the pre-dawn hours and the magnificent view over the park is thrilling. Towards the end of the flight, you rise to a height of 1500 feet for a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savannah below. After an hour or so in the air, your safari finishes with a flourish: a champagne breakfast in the bush, cooked on the balloon's burners! Please note that this is an optional extra not included in the main tour package price – In the event of unfavourable weather a full refund will be given if the balloon does not take off}.

This is your full day to explore the Mara a ravishingly beautiful place that also offers long, undisturbed views and utterly dramatic panoramas. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at the Siana Intrepids Camp (BLD)

Day 4 Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Breakfast at the lodge followed by morning and afternoon game drives. You will have the services of a professional Driver / guide will introduce you to the magnificent birds of Kenya. Return to camp before sunset for an exhilarating bush dinner (arrange for a minimum 6 persons in the group). Meals and overnight will be at the Siana Intrepids Camp (BLD)

Day 5 Laikipia /Sabuk
Today, you will be transferred to the airstrip after breakfast to board a charter flight to the Laikipia region, facing Mt. Kenya. Here, perched high above the Ewaso Nyiro River lies a most delightful lodge with only 5 exquisite cottages open to the wilderness. Other activities include game drives, nature walks, river swims, fishing, sundowners, village visits and just chilling out. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at Sabuk Lodge (BLD)

Day 6 Laikipia /Sabuk
Breakfast before a full day for you to spend in Sabuk with morning and afternoon game drives. Sabuk Lodge is a fun place for families, with lots of wilderness activities on offer and a great host to look after you. It specializes in guided camel treks led by the Maasai, which allow you to experience the real African wilderness where Elephants, Buffalo and Lion roam freely. You may stay in fly camps by the river, great for bonding, or return to the lodge for the night. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at Sabuk Lodge (BLD)

Day 7 Laikipia /Sabuk
Full day in Sabuk with morning and afternoon game drives with other activities. Sabuk is a superb family retreat that offers great variety and relief to the children after the daily intensive game drives of the Maasai Mara. In our opinion, this family safari combined with a beach holiday provides just about the most perfect family holiday in Kenya. Lunch, dinner and overnight will be at the Sabuk Lodge (BLD)

Day 8 Depart
After breakfast, take a charter flight to Nanyuki airstrip where and connect with a scheduled flight to Nairobi., or tonight you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Our representative will reconfirm your flights and assist at check-in. An optional dayroom can be arranged in Nairobi before transfer to the airport for your onward international flight recommended. (This Family safari is best extended with a beach holiday)
