Edinburgh is THE place to be to party away 2009! The world has New Year — only Scotland has Hogmanay! The world’s on holiday — Scotland’s on a mission.
Your package includes a legendary HAGGiS Highlander Day tour and all your accommodation in Edinburgh. (See 'Highland Day Tours' for further information). We’ll also throw in the hottest ticket in town - an Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party Pass! Your accommodation is 4-nights in a top quality hostel in Edinburgh (29th December - 1st January inclusive) which you can check in to during the day on 29th December.

Day 1: Arrive Edinburgh
Check into your city centre accommodation and maybe take a free walking tour of the city.  Visit Top Attractions such as the Edinburgh Dungeon and Our Dynamic Earth.  Discover the underground city with Mercat tours and check out John Knox house Edinburgh’s oldest mansion.

Day 2: Highlander Day Tour
Up early this morning ready for your stunning day trip from Edinburgh which will give you a real taste of Highlands.  From the battlefields of Stirling where legends such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce made their name, to the ancient fortress of Doune Castle, backdrop to the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Explore the stunning Falls of Dochart and beautiful Loch Tay, once home to ancient settlers who built wooden islands on the Loch knows as Crannogs.  It’s then off to Scotland’s oldest Whisky Distillery, The Famous Grouse, for a ‘wee dram’ of the water of life. What better way to round off a perfect day?

Day 3: Explore Edinburgh
After a long lie,  why not explore the Capital starting off with The Royal Mile which runs from the Castle right down to Hollyrood House and the Parliament.  If you need some tips on where to go and what to see, pop into the Haggis Office* where the crew there will be more than happy to help out! *(the office will be open 9am till 1pm)

Head to the Baked Tattie shop and order a baked tattie (potato) with haggis - sure to set you up for a night of dancing drinking and more!  Make sure you grab your tickets and pass before heading to the best New Year celebration in Europe to party the night away!

Day 4: Relaxing in Edinburgh
Why not fight that hangover and breath in some that great scottish air!  At the bottom of the Royal Mile you will find Arthurs Seat a distinct Volcano.  It’s a bit of a climb but offers amazing views over the city and on a clear day you can see the Forth Rail Bridge.  Another great view point is Carlton hill with the Acropolis (unfinished war memorial) and the Observatory.  This is less of a climb but offers 360 degree views of the city.

After a busy morning, why not warm up with a hot toddie or a mug of mulled wine at Princess Street Gardens before showing off your skating skills on the out door ice rink!

Day 5: Depart Edinburgh
Check out of your hostel in the morning.  Before you leave be sure to breath in the last of  that fine scottish air and the magnificent views of the city before heading off on your travels

(Special cancellation charges apply to this product - up to 22 days prior to departure 50% refund. Within 21 days - no refund)
