Full Itinerary
Departing Broome at 7.00am, we journey up the spectacular Dampier Peninsula, also known as 'Dampier Land'. Largely Aboriginal-owned land, the Dampier is a delight for travellers seeking a Kimberley experience that is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment.
Visit Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home of the famous pearl shell church. Built in the early 1900's by the locals and Pallotine monks, the Sacred Heart Church features a beautiful pearlshell alter. There is time for morning tea and also an interesting tour of the local Women's Art Centre.
It is then time to head to beautiful Cape Leveque (locally known as Kooljaman) for a delicious lunch and an afternoon on the pristine beaches and spectacular coastline the cape is renowned for. Whether you prefer swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing or taking a long walks along the beach, the afternoon is yours to enjoy.
Returning south we meet our local Indigenous guide in the Lombadina Community. A tour of the community and surrounding area provides a privileged insight into local Indigenous life on the Kimberley coast.
Travelling through challenging Kimberley terrain we return to Broome at approximately 6:30pm.
